The concept of "seminal band" seems to have been misused quite a bit in music, but Kreator is
definitely one of them for what it brought to the heavy metal audience. Active since 1982, the
German combo led by axeman/vocalist Mille Petrozza debuted in 1985 on Noise with the full
length LP Endless Pain: a raging thrash metal mayhem that made Kreator raise to the top of
emergent bands in the ever evolving metal scene of the 1980s. The next step was this Pleasure to
Kill, an album that perfected the band's young sound. Kreator introduced more speed and doomish
atmospheres in thrash metal, contributing to its evolution in that multitude of sub-genres that HM
listeners know well. Brutal, fast and savage, Kreator remains a milestone in rough music history.
