Rare 14-track reissue of crude kiddie LP release by Harold M. Moore, Jr and His soulettes - Save yourself a fortune and a lifetime of fruitless searching for an original copy as it's never gonna happen! Legend says that approximately 300 copies of the 'original' issue were pressed up but most were damaged (beyond saving) from being shrinkwrapped on a meat packing machine! Whatever, this is seriously good and very funky psycho-delic Americana with tons of wah wah guitar and wah wah (waw waw) organ! The 'home-made' sounding exploi', B-movie funk amazingly comes from a bunch of kids (check-out the amazing picture sleeve!) led by Harold Moore, Jr. (age 10) who is songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist. Harold is helped-out by his sisters, Vinita Marie, age 9, on bass and organ, Denise Marshall, age 7 on drums, and Jacqueln Carol, age 6, on waw-waw organ! With trax like, DO YOUR FUNKY THING, PIMP, KAT-WALK and WAW-WAW ROCK, you need this! It sounds as good as it looks!!! It's wah-wah wonderful. This is a Kid Funk record; made by kids themselves, albeit under the direction of adult producers. (Thank the Jackson Five.) Jr. & his Soulettes' Psychodelic Sounds (sic) typifies the musical-family model, where parental producers relive or perpetuate their accomplishments through their children. The amazing thing about Kid Funk is how hip, heavy, and even adult it can be. Beneath even inane classroom or academic "message" singing, the music is seriously funky. Breakbeats, deep bass...
