maggie bell first came to the record buying publics
attention via stone the crows who broke up in 1973
after building a tremendous fan following with her powerful
vocals and commanding stage presence. maggie
immediately set to work on her first solo album “queen of
the night” produced by the legendary producer jerry
wexler which was released in 1974
the album gave her the chance to choose her favourite
material and work with some of the finest musicians of the time
this is angel air’s 200th release and what better way for a
label to celebrate same and it’s 9th year of existence than
some classic rock from one of the uk’s greatest female singers
remastered with two bonus live tracks from maggie’s
personal archives. maggie is now back living in the uk and
currently organizing a uk tour for spring 2006.
