This is Emerson, Lake and Palmer like you’ve never heard them before. Back in the 1970s, their name was a by word for musical drama and innovation with their unique fusion of progressive rock and classical influences. But time marches on and we thought we’d heard the last of ELP, and maybe we would have, had it not been for noted producer Mike Bennett (Ian Brown, The Fall, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry) who began remixing ELP’s repertoire, extracting the chilled-out pastoral landscapes and phantasmagoric orchestrations to create a gentle wash of floating ambient moods and subtle drum ‘n’ bass grooves. What you hear is still ELP, but this reinterpretation is so breathtakingly fresh that it genuinely sounds like completely new material.
