Yellowman, live at Rissmillers, Resida California in September 1982
Winston Foster was one of the first reggae stars to emerge in Jamaica to help fill the huge gap left by the death of Bob Marley in 1981. He embodied the shift from roots music to dancehall more than anyone else during the early dancehall era. By 1982, he practically owned the dancehalls with his acute sense of comic versatility, an authentic approach that successfully engaged with audiences overseas and at home.
His rare appearance at Rissmillers Country Club in Reseda, California in September 1982 offers fans a valuable flipside to his reggae appearances in Jamaica reeling in Duppy Or Gunman, Jack Sprat, Mister Yellowman and the impending trademark album Zungguzungguguzungguzeng.
