LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

Judy’s shift from folk to rock really took hold with this band she formed in the early ’70s with her husband at the time, Jerry Yester. Inventive orchestration, strong songwriting and the kind of sophisticated vocal arrangements you’d expect from a guy with Yester’s resume (Modern Folk Quartet, Association) make this a real hidden gem of the era, one whose commercial potential was sabotaged by Henske and Yester’s break-up—and hence, the band’s—immediately following its release (Rosebud keyboardist/vocalist Craig Doerge is today married to Henske).
