Ruby is a deep bow in the direction of bluegrass legend Bill Monroe, the man whose back-beat lit a fire under Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins. Ruby saw heavy chart action, justifying Buck Owens’ desire to roll with the times while also detailing his conversion from chart-topping country artist to Country Music Hall Of Fame shoo-in.
