2 ON 1 CD 'A Salty Dog', Procol's third and best album, is built around the twin keyboards of Gary Brooker and Matthew Fisher (who also produced this album), and also showcases the bluesy fuzz-toned guitar of Robin Trower. The title tune is a fully orchestrated sea ballad, memorable for Brooker's soulfully majestic vocal. Folk Rock tunes such as 'The Milk Of Human Kindness' and 'Too Much Between Us' are more stripped down, but no less effective. On 'The Devil Came From Kansas' Trower uncorks a burly guitar solo that is downright heavenly 'Home' was post-Matthew Fisher but still features Brooker, Reid, Trower and BJ Wilson. The album has a very dark musical tone to it, finding Procol in a much heavier and sinister mode with Reid's lyrics focussing on death and decay! track listing: A Salty Dog: 1. A Salty Dog 2.
