MAGDALENA is a Nippon Progressive rock band, led by the clear and powerful voice of female singer Megumi TOKUHISA, that can sound as if Kate BUSH uses the Japanese tongue. Recorded in 1987 and reissued by the Musea label with a complete biography, the eponymous album offers a delicate and sophisticated art-rock, not unlike the works of RENAISSANCE or ILLUSION. Synthesisers, Mellotron layers, lyrical piano chords, Steve HACKETT-like guitar parts, finesse of the melodies… All contributes to give to this masterpiece a status similar to the best Anglo-Saxon productions of the genre.
