authors of one self-titled album dated 1971 samurai were a british band risen from the still smoldering ashes of web (just after the release of their third and best lp). the tracks found here represent the best of what british jazz rock has to offer - a sort of king crimson meets bloodwin pig. notable also for their excellent instrumentals, thanks in part to the help of sax men don fay and tony roberts. dale lawson would soon go on to form greenslade with dave greenslade of colosseum. a true rarity and indispensable collector's item!
