Released in early 1966 to tie in with the debut of Sammy’s ill-fated weekly variety show on NBC (which, due to contractual reasons, he had to skip for four weeks following its debut!), this album has some real nuggets for Rat Pack fans in particular, namely 'We Open in Venice', the only studio recording by Frank, Sammy and Dean, and the Martin-Davis duet, 'Sam’s Song'. The album also boasts two of Sammy’s signature songs, 'What Kind of Fool Am I' and 'Hey There', and eight new recordings highlighted by two of the many tunes by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse that Sammy recorded, 'This Dream' and 'Feeling Good', and Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen’s 'More Than One Way'. Other tunes include 'Hey There; Love at Last You Have Found Me; If You Want This Love of Mine; My Mother the Car' (!), and 'Feeling Good' on one of the lesser-known entries in the Davis discography.
