Our two Kent CDs featuring the A and B sides of Clarence Carter’s solo singles from the 60s to the early 70s have been extremely well received by the southern soul cognoscenti.
Now, in a Record Store Day exclusive, Kent is proud to present a specially compiled, double vinyl overview of this artist’s early years at Fame Records - a ‘must have’ compilation that serves as both a career overview and the ultimate “Best Of” collection.
“Slip Away” brings you every major Billboard chart hits, Carter’s most significant B-sides and all the killer album cuts which did not originally make it to 45. 24 tracks in total, all cut nice and loud on premium quality 180g vinyl.
Hardly any of these have been available on vinyl in over 30 years - and nine have yet to make their Kent CD debut, which only adds to the desirability of this collection.
Eye-catching double gatefold sleeve features previously unpublished photos, label and album sleeve shots and a newly written sleeve note.
This will only be available for Record Store Day and will not be re-pressed on vinyl once the limited edition has sold out.
