WELCOME TO LPCDREISSUES
High on the glue scented air arriving from across the Irish Sea, new bands began springing up around the tight-knit community of the underground Dublin art scene (the same fertile ground that bred the decidedly tamer, if more commercially successful, U2). In 1977 avant-punk pioneers, The Virgin Prunes (local slang for "freaks") became known for their wild live shows, often described as near Dadaist happenings, characterized by the outrageous antics of front man Gavin Friday, which included simulated sex on stage, full nudity, dead chickens smothered in ketchup, plates full of faeces, etc. Taken from their 1985 retrospective video, Sons Find Devils brings together the band's best live recordings from their dangerous early days (1981-1983).
