Murat OZTURK TRIO is the ideal showcase for a musician who is now considered among the greatest revelations of the French jazz movement. Born from a Turkish father and an Italian mother, this pianist discovered Bill EVANS, Keith JARRETT and Oscar PETERSON when he was about 19. From then on, his passion took off ! He was trained in the company of musicians such as Bernard MAURY, Clare FISHER and late Michel PETRUCCIANI, at the BILL EVANS PIANO ACADEMY in Paris. He also plays with Louis SCLAVIS, Bruno TOCCANE and Laurent GIANEZ, and regularly performs at the famous Caveau des Trinitaires in Metz. He also made a guest appearance that didn't remained unnoticed on "Parfum D'Etoiles" by Jean-Pascal BOFFO. When he was given the opportunity to record his first solo album called "Söyle", issued on the label Great Winds in 2001, he only chose first class backing musicians, starting with veteran Jacques VIDAL (Who among others participated to the creation of MAGMA at the end of the Sixties, and is now one of the most wanted double-bass players) and young drummer Jean-François ROBIN (Noticed on the album "Detours" by THE BRIEGEL BROS. BAND). This trio is supported by saxophonist Eric BARRET (Daniel HUMAIR, Andre CECCARELLI, Michel PORTAL, Johnny GRIFFIN, Steve SWALLOW, Freddie HUBARD...) on "Tarte Topa" and "Going To Off Mode !", as well as by accordionist Marcel AZZOLA (Boris VIAN, Edith PIAF, Tino ROSSI, Yves MONTAND, Jacques BREL, Michel LEGRAND, Claude BOLLING...) on "Equilibre". Two legendary names that need no further explanation...
