Originally released in 1970, this was Richie's 5th album and the first in a series of planned reissues.Havens' career began in the early '60's as a folk-singer doing the rounds of folk gigs in NYC. He also appeared at many festivals (Newport Folk Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Isle of Wight etc...), but it was his performance at 1969's Woodstock Festival that was the major turning point. As the opening act of a chaotic festival, he performed for a solid 3 hours and achieved instantaneous national recognition.
