From Texas we have the extraordinary Clique. Produced by Los Angeles-based SoftPop legend Gary Zekley (of Yellow Balloon and Jan & Dean fame!) fresh from his work with those other brilliant Texans, The Fun And Games!
Containing strains of bubblegum, psych, pop rock and soft pop, this fantastic album also features the original version of "Superman", the fab Zekley-penned tune later turned into a mega-hit for REM. Also features songs written by Smokey Roberds of The Parade (who had a hit with 1967s "Sunshine Girl"), Tommy James (who also produces some of the bonus tracks), and Mr Zekley himself. If this isnt enough, the album - originally released during the final hours of the White Whale label in 1970 - also features the Top 20 smash, the Tommy James-penned "Sugar On Sunday."
