Widely recognized as a genius melodic improviser and known for his contribution to the Dave Brubeck Quartet, Jazz alto saxophonist Paul Desmond was one of the most popular musicians of the West Coast's "Cool Jazz"-scene.
The album, including the title track "Take Ten", that was seen as the successor of his piece "Take Five", was a huge success. His warm and elegant tone turns every composition on this record into a work of art. His ingeniously ideas never ran out and there is not a single track on the album that isn't loaded with sweet melodies.
Indeed a very nice addition to Music On Vinyl's impressive Jazz catalogue.
