Born 15th March 1912, Texas Blues man Sam "Lightnin'" Hopkins wasraised in Centreville, Leon County, halfway between Dallas and Houstonon U.S. 75, basically a dusty old piney woods cotton community. Themajority of his material is autobiographically linked to the texture of hislife and its general progression and history from his early days as acropper in the black loam cotton fields of Central Texas.This CD collects some of the finest folk songs from one of the mostbeloved blues masters.
