WELCOME TO LPCDREISSUES
Perhaps best remembered for their 1964 hit "Chapel of Love", the Dixie Cups were discovered at a New Orleans talent show by producer Joe Jones, who soon whisked the teens off to New York's Red Bird Records. Songwriter Ellie Greenwich later said that "Chapel of Love" was one of only two songs that she was sure would be a number 1 hit (the other being the Shangri-La's "Leader of the Pack"). The talented trio had had a few more hits during the mid-sixties, including "People Say" and "Iko Iko" (derived from a traditional Louisiana Indian chant).
