A fantastic 1985 'comeback' album from one of the legendary names in Rockabilly, making its CD debut after nearly 20 years.Backed by the UK's own Johnny and the Roccos - whose own 1985 album was recorded at just about the same time, and thus forms the second half of Ace's value-packed programme - Cochran was still in fantastic vocal form when Mike Vernon took him into the studio to record these cuts - all of which were specially composed for the session.Bob Fish's Johnny and the Roccos are the ideal backup band for this rockabilly great, and they are just as enjoyable without him in the second half of our programme.The original two albums featured here are augmented by both sides of a rare Roccos 45 and the band's storming, previously-unissued take on 'Matchbox', recorded for, but omitted from, the "Tearin' Up The Border" album.A whole lotta rockin', and plenty rollin' too.
