The Herd was one of the most innovative of the exciting new wave of pop sensations that emerged in the late Sixties. Starring Peter Frampton, the singer and guitarist hailed as 'The Face Of '68', the band hit the charts with such elaborate and unusual arrangements as 'From The Underworld', 'Paradise Lost' and 'I Don't Want Our Loving To Die'. This superb double CD set has a wealth of tracks that covers their career, featuring early single releases from 1965 as well as hits from 1967-68, tracks from their 'Paradise Lost' album and other early recordings. Peter Frampton, who later became one of rock's biggest stars, recalls the story of The Herd in an exclusive interview for Repertoire's CD liner notes and discusses the origins of the songs and the band's distinctive style. Although The Herd broke up in 1969, fans of the classic British pop and rock scene fondly remember them and 'The Complete Herd' pays tribute to this remarkable group.
