After a slight delay (the result of one or two licensing problems, now happily surmounted) Ace is delighted to be able to bring you Volume Two in our three volume salute to Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller - widely regarded as the first, and quite probably the greatest of all Rock n Roll songwriters (and probably the only ones to be as famous as the songs they composed) .

"On The Horizon" picks up the L & S story from just before their relocation to New York in 1957 through to their early years as one of the leading creative forces in New York Brill Building pop music. It features songs everyone will know (although not always in the versions you might expect to hear) and some that only diehard collectors will be familiar with, by some of the greatest names of their era.

As you would expect, the supersized booklet is crammed with photographs, label shots and copious ephemera. The sleeve notes are by the projects co-compiler and era expert Mick Patrick - a name that always guarantees a good read - and a man who speaks to Leiber & Stoller on a daily basis, the manager of their publishing companies Randy Poe.

Produced with the co-operation and blessing of Leiber and Stoller themselves, this will be a must for all who already have volume 1 (CDCHD1010), and even for those who dont...
