Originally released as two seperate albums in 1958, - "Soul Meeting", and "Soul Brothers" - this is the first time both of these legendary discs are available together on vinyl. Ironically, when this disc was released it was Jackson, with his pioneering Modern Jazz Quartet, who was the more famous of the two men. Here, being perhaps the greatest vibist of all time, he rocks the vibes and even trys his hand at a little guitar and piano. Brother Ray,on the other hand, wows us with his (and this is an understatement) AMAZING piano playing and...did you know he was also an excellent sax player?
