Dan Hicks was a founder member of The Charlatans, the trailblazers of the psychedelic “dance” concerts as well as precursors of rock art posters that advertised shows. Dan and his Hot Licks initially were the support act at many of The Charlatans gigs and became his primary interest. After the Charlatans disbanded, Dan augmented the Hot Licks with two female backing vocalists (The Lickettes!) and released “Original Recordings” in 1969. This album contains tracks from that debut album along with tracks from a follow up that was never released.
