Before Motley Crue, Poison and Quiet Riot cruised the Sunset Strip in the 80s, Hair Metal was already alive and kicking out the jams on the East Coast. Ahead of the glam metal curve, Angel hailed from Jersey and featured singer Frank DiMino, guitarist Punky Meadows, and keyboard player Greg Giuffria. Sharing some sonics with Queen (especially the Brian May style guitar) and Kiss (with whom they shared a manager), Angel dispensed ultra-slick pop metal and arena rock that sounds surprisingly fresh and fun today.
