Turn on the Music Machine for a blast of hot Sixties garage rock. This feisty five-piece hit the Billboard Top 40 with 'Talk Talk' in 1966 and that quirky, raucous performance takes pride of place on the group's debut album 'Turn On', released the same year. Most of the songs are originals, written by top notch vocalist Sean Bonniwell, including hit follow up 'The People In Me'. The Music Machine also played some excellent 'covers' - notably George Harrison's 'Taxman' - and there is a haunting pre-Hendrix version of 'Hey Joe'. The mercurial Bonniwell is backed by Machine men Mark Landon (guitar), Doug Rhodes (organ), Keith Olsen (bass) and Ron Edgar (drums).
Olsen later became a top record producer in the 1980s. Sean Bonniwell has been proclaimed as a much better singer than Jim Morrison and here is a chance to re-evaluate one of the 'lost boys' of rock'n'roll. Complementing the Stereo version of the album, this CD includes the complete 12 tracks in Mono, taken from the original LP release.
