A great place to begin investigating as it features two albums separated by eighteen years. “In The Tradition” was cut for Prestige/Folklore in July 1963 and assembles both blues and early jazz with Dave accompanied by a wailing Dixieland jazz band. The final nine tracks come from 1981, released as “Your Basic Dave Van Ronk”.
