WELCOME TO LPCDREISSUES
Originally released in 1972, this was his first album for the Vanguard label. Berkeley, Calif-based Basho was one of the main ’60s acoustic guitar innovators along with John Fahey and Leo Kottke. Dissonance, unusual tunings, Eastern and American Indian influences in his high standard steel-string guitar playing. Basho sings in all but one of the songs of this album. Sometimes the song structures are more like Native American chants than folk tunes.
