The late, great Percy Mayfield has been sadly unrepresented on CD thus far. Though his Speciality label recordings from the early '50's are readily available, the sixties classics from Ray Charles' Tangerine label as well as Percy's RCA and Brunswick recordings have remained un-released until now."Walking on a Tightrope" (his Brunswick 1968 release) is now available for the first time on CD via ACADIA.One of the greatest R&B songwriters (he wrote "Hit the Road Jack" for Ray Charles) this album contains eleven Percy compositions including "The Danger Zone" and a version of "Please Send Me Someone to Love" which has been recorded by a multitude of artists from B.B. King to Sade.
