Norwegian progressive rock collective Tusmørke continue their unique fusion of psychedelic rock, folk traditions and vintage progressive music on Balderdom. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology, philosophy and cyclical concepts of time, the album explores the eternal relationship between darkness and light, death and rebirth, and the changing of the seasons through rich instrumental textures and imaginative songwriting.
Originally conceived around a winter solstice performance in late 2022, the album combines newly written material with the long-awaited studio recording of the band's early composition Lidskjalv, first conceived during the 1990s. Blending analogue keyboards, intricate arrangements and Scandinavian folk influences, Balderdom reflects Tusmørke's continual musical evolution while remaining deeply rooted in mythological storytelling. The result is another immersive journey through progressive rock's most adventurous traditions.
