On Meet You There, Danish group Beefeaters stretch far beyond the beat and R&B roots of their earlier recordings, moving into a looser and more exploratory form of blues-based progressive rock. The playing is spacious and confident, with organ, guitar and flute shaping long instrumental passages that feel closer to a late-night club performance than a conventional studio album.

Originally released in 1969, the record captures a band caught between blues, jazz phrasing and the emerging freedom of European progressive rock. Rather than overloading the songs, Beefeaters allow the music to breathe, especially on the extended pieces, where atmosphere and improvisation become just as important as melody. This Eclipse Records edition adds one bonus track, expanding the picture of one of Denmark’s most interesting late-60s rock groups.
