In 1977 Bobby and I began our long musical odyssey together. Our goal was to finally bring Pentagram to the forefront in a big and dramatic way. Something the previous line up had failed to do. This recording documents our humble beginning. This was when the real groundwork was actually laid.We played anywhere and everywhere. This was pure shock rock in it's rawest form. I saw people banging their heads off and others in tears running out the door screaming in sheer horror! That's when I knew we were on to something. The keg was a well known rock club in the Georgetown section of Washington D.C. that catered to original music unlike other venues that demanded cover songs. Lots of bands had cut their teeth there - the cherry people (featuring legendary guitarist Punk Meadows from Angel), the nighthawks, Link Wray and even Rory Gallagher had performed once. The usual clientele was made up of street bums, pimps, hookers, drug dealers, strippers, acid heads and space hippies as it was located in the Go-go Club and Red Light district. I was of the impressional age of 17. You can bet this was a real eye-opener for me! I can remember the owner of the keg referring to Bobby as that damned cockroach! Something we die laughing about to this day. But for all of this we became the house band for a year. The songs on this album should be very familiar to most of you although the recording has barley survived the ravages of time. So for those who have asked the question and have always wanted to experience one of our early shows, the question has been answered - Ask No More Joe HasselvanderThis recording is the first authorised representation of Pentagram during what has come to be known as the High Voltage Era being that there are so few recordings of any quality at all we chose this selection for its variety and to present for the first time an official recording a Pentagram at its strength displaying the band at one of the short lived dual guitar powerhalf and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did when recordedPLEASE PLAY AT EAR BLEEDING VOLUME FOR BEST RESULTBobby Liebling
