Recorded at Rockfield and Olympic Studios during September and October 1972, Doremi Fasol Latido is one of Hawkwind’s defining early albums. Arriving in the wake of the band’s breakthrough hit Silver Machine, the record marked the first Hawkwind album to feature Lemmy Kilmister on bass and vocals, alongside Simon King on drums.
Released in November 1972, the album captures Hawkwind at full cosmic force, combining heavy space rock, hypnotic rhythms and futuristic psychedelia. Classic tracks such as Brainstorm, Space is Deep, Lord of Light, Down Through the Night and Time We Left This World Today helped the album reach the UK Top 20 and cement its status as a landmark release in the band’s catalogue.
This new vinyl edition has been remastered from the original master tapes, cut at Abbey Road Studios, and presented as a facsimile of the original 1972 LP release, complete with inner bag and poster. Also included is a remastered facsimile bonus seven-inch picture sleeve single of the rare German 1972 single release of Lord of Light backed with Born to Go (live).
