I'm Sticking With You (An Introduction To Moe Tucker) is a specially selected collection celebrating the solo work of Maureen “Moe” Tucker, the legendary drummer of The Velvet Underground and one of the most distinctive figures in underground rock.
Best known for the elemental, unconventional drumming that helped define The Velvet Underground, Tucker continued that band's spirit of direct, uncompromising rock & roll throughout her solo career. This collection brings together nine recordings from across two decades, including personal reinterpretations of Velvet Underground classics alongside early rock & roll favourites and original material.
Highlights include Tucker's versions of I'm Waiting For The Man, Pale Blue Eyes and Heroin, as well as a charming duet with Jonathan Richman on I'm Sticking With You. Her home-recorded covers of Chuck Berry's Around And Around and the Shirelles' Will You Love Me Tomorrow? find Tucker playing all the instruments herself.
The collection also includes Andy, her tribute to Andy Warhol, and closes with the moving Last Night, written as a farewell to her former Velvet Underground bandmate Sterling Morrison.
Issued by Modern Harmonic in 2018, this edition is pressed on white vinyl and was cut by acclaimed mastering engineer Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. It is presented in a distinctive Warhol-inspired package with a removable sticker and liner notes by music journalist David Fricke.
