Following PQR’s highly praised reissues of Swedish underground treasures by San Michael, Gandalf and Midsommar, the label continues its journey through the hidden riches of 1970s Scandinavian psychedelia with the first collectable reissue of the self-titled album by KONTINUERLIG DRIFT — a name meaning “continuous operation” in Swedish.

Originally emerging from the Swedish progg and underground rock scene of the early 1970s, Kontinuerlig Drift created a loose, adventurous and highly atmospheric sound where ethno-prog, psychedelic rock, bluesy jamming and hippie-folk all meet. Their music has the same exploratory spirit that made the era so fascinating, combining long-form improvisation, folk-rooted melodies and an open, free-flowing live-band energy.

The album will appeal strongly to collectors of Scandinavian psych/prog, especially fans of the ethnically tinged direction of Fläsket Brinner and the drifting psychedelic approach of Mecki Mark Men. Highlights such as Liksom En Herdinna and Gånglåt Från Vettet unfold as extended folk-psychedelic journeys, with saxophone, violin, piano, bass and electric guitar weaving in and out of hypnotic themes and inspired instrumental dialogues.

On the more psychedelic side, Indianens Blod and Se Men Inte Röra bring together mesmerising grooves, raw solos and a more urgent underground rock feeling. The result is a rare and deeply characterful Swedish album: loose, colourful, sometimes eccentric, and always alive with the sound of musicians stretching out beyond conventional song forms.

This official PQR reissue is limited to 400 numbered copies, pressed in four colour variants of 100 copies each. It has been remastered by the band and includes a bonus CD with ultra-rare and previously unreleased material, plus a 2-page insert featuring the band’s official biography.
