We are delighted to present the first official reissue of Tercer Milenio, the powerful 1977 second album by Argentina’s Orion’s Beethoven. Long regarded as one of the strongest hard rock and heavy progressive statements to emerge from the fertile Argentine 1970s scene, this album shows the band sounding tighter, darker and more fully realised than on their debut, Superángel.
From the opening attack of Amistades Desparejas, the direction is clear: heavy riffs, acid-soaked guitar leads, forceful vocals and thick bass lines, all driven by a raw progressive rock energy that often pushes into proto-metal territory. Imagine the dramatic heaviness of Uriah Heep and High Tide, the occult edge of Black Widow, and the underground weight of early Pentagram, filtered through the unmistakable personality of the Argentine rock scene.
Each track adds its own colour to the album. Niño Del Tercer Milenio unfolds as an eight-minute doomy procession, carried by a dark, hypnotic atmosphere and an unpolished production that gives the music its dangerous immediacy. Viaje De Siglos combines symphonic and psychedelic touches with a heavy rock foundation, while Hermano Silencio closes the album with a memorable riff and a full-circle return to the band’s hard progressive force.
This collector’s edition is limited to 300 numbered copies, pressed in three different colour variants of 100 copies each. It includes a 2-page insert with the full band biography, making it an essential edition for fans of South American hard prog, heavy psych and proto-metal.
