When Paul Jones followed Mike Vickers’ path and left one of Britain’s leading R&B groups, Manfred Mann, his future looked bright. As his counterparts nervously sought success with Fontana as a pop vehicle with Klaus Voormann and Mike D’Abo, Jones could afford to rest on his laurels as the charismatic, good-looking frontman.
