Budgie, the Welsh hard rock and heavy metal band formed in 1967, is renowned for blending progressive rock elements with heavy riffs, influencing numerous bands that followed. Their ninth studio album, Nightflight, was released on October 2, 1981, under RCA Records. Recorded at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, and produced by Don Smith, the album marked a stylistic shift towards a more melodic hard rock sound compared to its predecessor, Power Supply.
Nightflight reached number 68 on the UK Albums Chart and featured the single "Keeping a Rendezvous," which peaked at number 71 on the UK Singles Chart.
