Lynyrd Skynyrd are a Southern rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in the 1960s. In the 1970s they became one of the genre’s key groups, known for their three-guitar lineup, blues-influenced hard rock, and classics like “Free Bird” and “Sweet Home Alabama.”

"Pronounced ‘Lĕh-’nérd ‘Skin-’nérd")*" is their first studio album, released in 1973. It was recorded at Studio One in Doraville, Georgia, with Al Kooper as producer.
