sound. Climax Chicago (a.k.a. Climax Blues Band) added pop-rock sparkle to their sturdy blues concept
when they unleashed 'Rich Man' in 1972. It was their fifth album and the first for EMI's progressive
Harvest label.
New drummer John Cuffley, who had recently joined the ranks, brings a crisp drive to the rhythm
section, while American producer Richard Gottehrer tightened up their studio sound.
The title track has a pounding Red Indian rhythm, while 'Mole On The Dole' has a slower, funky feel.
'You Make Me Sick' reflects the band's sardonic sense of humour, while the sexy 'Shake Your Love'
reverts back to Bo Diddley style R&B. There is a swamp rock/gospel feel to the slow paced 'All The
Time In The World', and 'If You Wanna Know' speeds up into a good time romp.
