TENNESSEE 1954... and there's an exciting new buzz in the hot Southern air; Sam Phillips' long search for "a white man who had the Negro sound and the Negro feel" was over and the handsome young man before him not only sounded right, but in his loose black shirt and outlandish pink pegged slacks, he also looked the part. When Elvis released his first singles the style of music he was playing didn't even have a name yet! The trade papers were calling it "country blues" - but later it would be renamed simply, but evocatively, "rockabilly". So here is a 2LP documenting those first exciting years with Sun when Elvis Presley was still young, sexy and dangerous.
