1982's Zombie Birdhouse sees Iggy stepping out of a swampy contract with Arista that led his fans to believe he had turned into a VH1-like pop star, a sort of caricatured rock shaman. The new album on IRS, produced by Chris Stein of Blondie fame, revitalized the career of a true stage animal who had been on the verge of losing his knack and who, despite some lack of focus in this new path, reconciled with his fans with this genuine punk-new wave record.
