Ben & Jerry’s Newport Folk Festival, July 29th & 30th 1989.

On July 29 and July 30, 1989, the recently revived Newport Folk Festival (then renamed the Ben & Jerry’s Newport Folk Festival) presented two days of top performers from the traditional folk, blues, singer-songwriter, and zydeco worlds. This three-disc set features nearly three hours of music from the weekend, broadcast on KGNU-FM, including selections by stars B.B. King, Emmylou Harris, John Lee Hooker, and Laura Nyro, as well as songs by folk legends Pete Seeger and Odetta.
