1971 debut album from Cardiff's Budgie. Although never as big as Led Zep, Sabbath or Deep Purple, Budgie were one of the best of the British rockers through the early seventies. Tracks like "Guts" show how heavy they could be, but they were equally at home playing ballads that build up to rockers on tracks such as "The Author". Reminiscent of Wishbone Ash in their prime, Budgie were much underrated in their time. This release gives us a chance to re-evaluate their work and influence over generations of rock and metal acts.
