Forever remembered for their underground hit "Notting Hill Gate" Shiva Jones, the former lead singer and song writer for the progressive underground English rock band Quintessence (circa. 1969 - 1974), and his new music partner Rudra Beauvert have come together to create an exciting, eclectic and contemporary style of music on their double CD COSMIC SURFER.Jones and Beauvert weave humour, speech and satire into serious topics that affect the balance of our global community today. Impossible to categorise, it incorporates, electronica, rock and ambient/new age. The double CD set has songs like 'Reptillian Corporate Sign Language', that address the corporate greed of our times. 'But What Am I?' is a tongue-in-cheek / Monty Python view on Alien abductions and the eternal question of 'Who are we?' in a broader sense. 'Blue Is Beautiful' and 'Everything Is Weird' are two songs that look at how we are treating the environment. 'Hollywood Guru' and 'New Age Bread Head' send up the New Age Guru circuit. Also, due to popular demand, we've included modern renditions of the most popular classic Quintessence songs such as 'Cosmic Surfer', 'Ganga Mai' and 'Giants'.COSMIC SURFER is a fearless ride and will definitely take the listener to musical realms not experienced before!
