LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

This classic sole album recorded in Italy in 1967 is a pure English Beat, R ’n’ B Garage classic. Guitarist Mike Ralphs and vocalist Stan Tippins went on to great things in the 70s as key members of Mott The Hoople but their early days were spent playing Garage beat and adapting soul classics like Sam Cooke’s “Shake”, Curtis Mayfield’s “Talking About My Baby” and James Brown’s “I Got You” among the 12 tracks. The quintet is filled out with Pete Watts on bass, Dave Tedstone on guitar and Bob Hall on drums.
