Gainsbourg's fabulous 10" debut album and its immediate follow up - still on 10" - are now back to life in this Doxy release that collects both these rare gems. Released in 1958 and 1959, they belong to Gainsbourg's chansonnier period, and they're far from that style that gave us his late minimalistic pop atmospheres for which he is well known. But they are already a nice take on Gainsbourg's future smokey night club attitude that later helped consolidate his maudit character, that sleazy sexy m.f. that seems to be encrusted in the grooves of each of his most famous scratchy vinyls of the Seventies.
