The Buckinghams were a Chicago pop/rock band that rose to prominence in the mid-1960s, known for catchy, radio-ready tunes with a touch of soul and bold horn-led arrangements. Their breakthrough single, “Kind of a Drag” (written by Jim Holvay and released in late 1966), reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1967 and later served as the title track of their debut album, Kind of a Drag (1967).
