The 70s band Brinsley Schwarz evolved from a steady rock band to a group which became the definitive pub rock band. The detailed sound of their fourth album Nervous on the Road and the smooth production makes it a great album to listen to. There are some excellent rock & roll songs on the album, like "Happy Doing What We're Doing" and "Surrender to the Rhythm". A lot of fun and humor is to be found in the good old country tracks, but there is also an emotional side when you hear the ballads.
Brinsley Schwarz started back in the beginning of the 60's, when Nick Lowe and Brinsley Schwarz met at school. The following years the definitive line-up were changing the style of the band from pop to folk and from psychedelic to rock.
