Following their 1990 debut, Otherway Out, Sun Dial set about recording a follow-up at legendary producer Vic Keary's studios in Chalk Farm, London. Sun Dial had now signed with the UFO label but the sessions for Return Journey were abandoned. A 12 EP, Overspill, was all that was salvaged for release on UFO. Thereafter, Sun Dial reconvened to record what would become their second album, Reflecter, leaving Return Journey in the vaults until a belated release of sorts on Acme in 1994. This deluxe edition of Return Journey is the definitive version, remastered from the original, recently re-discovered tapes.
